Bear Lake Fun

We were blessed to be able to spend some time in Bear Lake this summer, we had such a great time with Alisha's sister and her 2 boys. Later in the week we were fortunate to be joined by our good friends Alex & Stacy Stuart and their darling girls.
C.J. & Blake anxiously awaiting the completion of the homemade ice cream.
Alisha has always wanted a horse, she finally got her wish.
Hanging out with the boys at Paris Springs. Fun hike with cold water, what else could you want?
Crossing the freezing cold water

Overlooking the little town of Paris

Inside the Ice Caves. Great place for kids to explore
Alisha and Alexis Stuart just relaxing on the front porch.
The Stuart Family. Alex, Stacy, Allison, Kamryn, and Alexis.
JD playing at the park in Paris
The girls all having a race on the swings, we can't tell who won.
Allison & Kamryn teaching "Grandpa" JD how to fly on the swings.

We had a great time at Bear Lake, and it was great to get to know our friends and family better!! This trip was definitely the highlight of our summer. What else could be better than celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary in Bear Lake with some of our favorite people.

Knee surgery #5

JD waiting for the surgeon to arrive, sexy gown don't ya think??
getting his leg shaved, and having to wear tights on his other leg. No fun!
In recovery after the 2 and a half hour long surgery.
after surgery with an ice pack on. Thankfully he had nurse Alisha to take care of him.
Looking like a mummy. This was taken just before we went back to the doc to have his staples taken out. They didn't use stitches, instead they stapled the front of his knee shut with 55 little staples.
This was taken just after the staples were pulled, now the real torture is still ahead of him, with 6 months of physical therapy, and who knows how much longer on the crutches. We do want to say thank you to everybody who came to visit, brought meals, called us just to see how we are, and prayed for us. Thank you to all of our friends, family, and neighbors.

A NIGHT OF LAUGHS

So we went and watched the WWE wrestling matches because it is something JD has always wanted to do. (he's kinda a nerd) We actually had a great time! We laughed HARD the ENTIRE night. The crowd was very entertaining, as it seemed as most of them thought wrestling was real and not basically a play with freakishly huge guys in it. We took our neighbor with us, Caleb is always at our house and has helped us with the yard a lot. We love having him around and he is a great kid!
Caleb is also a fanatic when it comes to wrestling so he was in 7th heaven all night long.
Alisha actually had a fun time too, especially seeing her 2 "boys" having such fun.

Quick Update

Ok so here's the skinny on what we have been up to lately. JD hurt his good knee yet again a few weeks ago playing basketball, and unlike last time, he didn't get lucky enough to avoid surgery.
JD will be having MAJOR knee surgery on the 28th of May. He gets to have a new ACL constructed out of his hamstring, also needs to have the MCL repaired as well as the meniscus. So he has been walking around on crutches for a few weeks now, and just waiting for surgery.
Other than that, not much is new here. We appreciate all the visits and phone calls, and prayers, and hope they will continue.

What the Gunk??

So recently we went and had an "Ionic foot bath." And what is an Ionic foot bath? Well its a process in which you put your feet in this tub of clear distilled water, then they add some kind of electrodes and then you sit for 20 minutes.
I don't know how it works or even if it really does pull toxins out of your body, all I know is that when we started the water was clean and pure, and when we finished the water was the nastiest looking stuff ever.

Whether this thing works or not, it was fun to go and try it out.

We know there is a lot of controversy out there as to whether these foot baths actually do pull toxins out of you or not, but they did let us take some samples of our water after we were done, and the samples are really gross.

We know some people think we are weird because we like to try out all sorts of these different things just to try and become healthier people.
We also know that a lot of people think we are weird because we do most of our shopping at the health food store, and really have made an effort to eat more whole foods, and less processed foods.
Once again, I am not a doctor or a scientist, and can't explain how these foot baths work or if they do, all I know is that if that crap really did come out of us then we are much healthier without that still in us.

Here fishy fishy.....

We decided to go out and enjoy the beautiful day, and so did this Bald Eagle.
Ice fishing is definitly one of our favorite winter activities, especially when we can play with power tools.

Alisha just chillin by her ice hole, and eating an apple of course. Waiting for the fish to take the hook can be hard work sometimes.

Apparantly we got bored of waiting for the fish to bite so we had a little WWE wrestling match on the ice. JD tackles Alisha, and Alisha hits him with the suprise "white-washing"

All in all it was a beautiful day up at East Canyon, good food, great company, and a nice little sunburn to go home with.

But those dang fish just didnt ever get the memo that they were supposed to be hungry for what we were trying to feed them. This was the scene all day long for our entire fishing party. Just some holes in the ice with no fishies coming out.

Moon Lit fun

Well since we had an awesome snow storm the other day, we decided to go out and enjoy the new snow by doing some moon-lit snow shoeing.
We had a great time, the weather was perfect. Temps were about 30 degrees with no wind thank goodness. We will be doing a lot more snow shoeing in the up-coming weeks as long as the weather stays good.

Alisha decided to try and show off her skills by running in snow shoes, well you can all see how well that worked for her. LOL!!
